What is Dispute Resolution in Sunshine Act Law?

If you are living in the America maybe you are aware of different laws that they have and one of it is the Affordable Care Act which has the big impacts all in the Americans but not only for them but also for the physicians, manufacturers of drugs and medical devices could be.

As part of the Physicians Payments Sunshine Act, manufacturers of drugs, medical devices and biological will be required to report payments and items of value given to physicians and teaching hospitals.

With that said, expense reporting software could be beneficial for these organizations, so employees don't have to manually record all of these costs.

The ACA was announced some time ago, but senior vice president of Wright Medical Technology Daniel Garen, recently spoke at the 9th Annual Pharma Forum and revealed a provision that wasn't widely known - dispute resolution. Through the Sunshine Act Law, physicians will be able to challenge the expenses pharmaceutical companies and device manufacturers charge to them, he said.

"If you find a mistake, report it right away," said Garen. "If you make a mistake, it's $10,000. If you don't report it [and it's discovered], it's $100,000." To ensure that the process goes smoothly, Garen recommends using a "great filing system for the receipts, sign-in sheets and lists."
