The Trends of Travel and Expense

In the business most of the people didn't really know that the expense management played a big part in the any kind of businesses. We reached out to finance professionals from all over North America from all sized organizations and asked them a few basic questions of their current expense management processes as well as their future plans for managing spend within their organization. After receiving responses from over 165 companies, we were able to analyze the data and produce this years, “Travel & Expense Management Trends for 2013”. The data explores expense management practices from an overall standpoint as well as dives deeper into the results to provide insight for small business, mid-sized business and enterprise level organization.

Although, we did received responses from all sized companies, a large majority (35% of all responses) came from enterprise level organizations, those with 1,000 employees or more.

If you are a part of the big business company one of the things that the part of your work I’m sure travel is the part of it. In the world of the business travel expense management is always the part of it and most of the business people are taking it in the hard way.

Based in the research of Chicago Business Journal, the number of commercial flights is currently declining, not rising, as many industry experts tend to expect. Airline ticket sales have remained fairly stagnant in recent years, and because planes have become larger and more densely packed with small economy-class seats, that means fewer planes. What's causing the decline in air travel? There are many factors to consider, but here are three big ones.
