Organizations pay for every expense that is related to them but most of the time there comes a condition where the employees spends from their own pocket for the organization and are reimbursed later on as per the expenditure report submitted by them. This report that contains the entire official and the personal expenses of an employee is called the expense report. The main purpose of this report is to return the money that the employee has spent for the organization as this it gives an idea of the official and the personal expenditure of the employee. The basic information in the report is related to food expenditures, travel expenditures, air and train fares and accommodation expenditures. The process is quire transparent to get the reimbursement but it depends a lot on the honesty of the employee as the expense report is made and submitted by the employee only so any undue advantage if taken by the employee will cost the organization a lot in terms of money.

The reimbursement procedure is quite lengthy and time taking and thus most of the companies follow a specific format that is used by the employees to fill in their expenses. This expense reports can be filled online or can be sent through mail or fax for immediate address by the reimbursement committee. There are many types of software in the market that specialize in making good expenditure reports. Business Travels Numbers in 2013 are lagging in Expectation

If you are a part of the big business company one of the things that the part of your work I’m sure travel is the part of it. In the world of the business travel expense management is always the part of it and most of the business people are taking it in the hard way.

Based in the research of Chicago Business Journal, the number of commercial flights is currently declining, not rising, as many industry experts tend to expect. Airline ticket sales have remained fairly stagnant in recent years, and because planes have become larger and more densely packed with small economy-class seats, that means fewer planes. What's causing the decline in air travel? There are many factors to consider, but here are three big ones.

Economic reasons Brancatelli cites the price of crude oil as an example. In 2000, one barrel went for around $25 - that price has since ballooned to just under $100, and since energy costs account for about 40 percent of an airline's budget, the industry has no choice but to adjust. That means fewer planes.

Security concerns Since 9/11, there has been a reluctance to fly planes unless absolutely necessary. Robert Herbst, an independent airline analyst, told the Los Angeles Times that the 10 largest American airlines lost an estimated $29 billion between 2001 and the first six months of 2011.

The internet Companies are looking to cut costs, and one way to do so is meeting with colleagues via video conferencing instead of flying to meet them in person. BizTech magazine reports that almost 50 percent of all information workers will have personal video solutions in place by 2016. The industry is growing 150 percent annually.

Airline travel is enduring lean times, which should mean for a somewhat lessened burden of travel expense management. But software solutions are still a useful way to manage the expenses that remain.

Why Business Travel Reporting Matters

For any company that has their employees engage in regular travel, it is important to have a good corporate travel strategy. Part of developing and improving on a corporate travel strategy is solid business travel reporting. Business travel reporting provides the company with details about the cost of travel and how the money is being used. This data not only helps to keep track of expenses but it also can be used to identify areas of waste and inefficiency. When this information is tracked and analyzed it can be used to improve upon your company's business travel strategy. Using the service of a corporate travel agency is an effective means toward achieving all of these goals.

Due to their experience and their connections in the travel and finance industry, a corporate travel firm will be especially suited to provide these services with the highest degree of detail. A corporate travel agency uses a variety of methods to analyze and track a clients business travel expense. They can use data from banking and credit card records along with the travel records to identify the most and least efficient travelers in your company. They can help to manage airline data to find which carrier is providing the most business friendly service for the most affordable price and they can help to identify waste and abuse of funds.

A corporate booking agency can also help employers to analyze information in a way that can determine how effectively the employees travel and how well they stick to the itinerary and how closely the individual employees stick to the travel strategy. This can be achieved by referencing the data accumulated from credit cards, expense accounts, airline data, hotel bills and rental information. Once all of the data is collected and analyzed, the corporate travel firm can prepare a complete report. The reports will cover a variety of different areas and will often be accompanied by a written summary of the overall information. Clients can also request specialized reporting from a corporate travel agency. These may be to address an area of concern or to see how a new aspect of the travel strategy is working.
